Remote, cloud-based support - based locally 

When you join Plico, you immediately have access to our local support team who is as invested in your clean energy system as you. This means you have someone to call if you have a question about your system, or you suspect something’s not right. We also monitor any critical issues using our cloud-based technology and team of technicians. 

We’re not an ‘install it and walk away’ company - we’re by your side for the entire length of your contract, and we’re available to answer questions and concerns about your system. Many of our members tell us that this reassurance is one of the things they love about Plico. Battery technology is new to many people, so we think it’s extra helpful to have someone to talk to about your system, if and when you need to. 

Plico is there to ensure everything is working as expected, and to make sure you’re getting the most savings possible. We care about your investment, and we want you to get the most from it.  

You also get free access to a real-time energy monitoring app and online portal (with even more detail) so you too can see how your system is performing, no matter where you are. 

 

10-year warranty 

Plico battery and inverter systems all come with an extended 10-year warranty - double what many other providers can offer.  

We’ve partnered with world leaders in solar technology, and our solar PV panels are built to withstand harsh Australian conditions. They include a 15-year product warranty and up to 30-year performance warranty.  

Don’t waste your time on the phone trying to resolve warranty claims, we’ll manage the entire warranty process for you. All solar and battery systems sold in Australia have a warranty that protects consumers from faulty equipment. The great thing about Plico is that we will manage any warranty claims on your behalf directly with the manufacturer.  

 

Quality control 

When your solar solution is first installed, everything is expected to work perfectly. Your technicians will optimise the position of the panels, the technology is brand new and unaffected by things like weather or wear and tear, and your usage will be optimal. Happy days!   

This is the first point at which Plico’s monitoring is invaluable, because it’s also traditionally at installation when things may be missed. With other providers, you wouldn’t know something was wrong until you receive your first bill. That’s where Plico is different. We monitor the system closely for the first couple of weeks, to make sure it’s up and running before you pay anything.  

Then as time goes on, things can change. While everything is still expected to work, there may be an opportunity to improve your output and functionality. All you need to do is reach out to us and we can take a look for you.   

A professional who reviews your system can pick up things like low performance, a change in shading, and how the energy usage may have shifted since installation. They can also review the equipment and replace anything that’s faulty or suboptimal.   

Other solar companies tend to have a warranty as reassurance for their customers. But what if you’re unsure if things are working optimally or not (after all, we’re not all solar or battery experts)? What if the issue has nothing to do with technology (for example, relating to shading or usage)? And what if the company is nowhere to be found, leaving you with a warranty and no one to call?   

We go one step beyond providing a warranty and offer ongoing support, so you can be sure everything is working and you’re getting the most possible savings from your investment.   

After all, we want you to get maximum value from your solar + battery solution. That’s why we’re with you for the long haul. During that time, we will repair or replace anything that’s required – so we stand confidently behind our equipment.

 

A helping hand is just a phone call away

Plico technicians can identify major faults in your system remotely, without needing to visit your home. You might even notice something that doesn't look right when monitoring your user-friendly energy management app. Our team of customer service specialists and technicians will be on standby to rectify it.  

While our ongoing support commitment doesn’t include regular on-site inspections or services like  your car or A/C system needs regularly to keep running effectively, it does mean we are on hand to assist you in any way we can.   

If we detect something is wrong during our service agreement with you, we’ll organise a repair or replacement. No more spending time tracking down and contacting the equipment manufacturer – we handle everything for you.  

If anything does go wrong, we are a friendly voice at the end of the phone willing to help. We’ll troubleshoot with you to get your system back up and running. If the issue requires someone to look at your system, one of our qualified technicians will arrange a day and time that suits you and come to inspect the equipment and surroundings. And if the issue is with the Plico system and under warrantly, we offer this service free of cost. Our technicians will check everything over and run some tests to ensure you’re back up and running as soon as possible. You have peace of mind that we’ll arrange any new equipment if it’s required. We can also provide an analysis of your system and your energy use, taking into account your solar generation, storage and energy exports, to ensure you’re saving on your power bills. We also support you to use energy more efficiently and maximise the amount of renewable energy you’reusing in your home. And we can even pick up faulty equipment in your home that’s unrelated to your Plico solar + battery system!  

If you are considering an upgrade to your system down the track, we can make recommendations based on how your system is performing and how you are using your energy. If we don’t think you’ll benefit from a larger battery or more panels, we’ll say so. Our primary focus is helping our members save by making the most of their clean energy investment.   

Battery technology is new to a lot of Australians - knowing that the answers to your questions are a simple phone call or message away is another reassurance that Plico provides. 

 

Virtual Power Plant - Plico members are part of the future 

Included in your Plico membership is also participation in our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) in WA. The VPP connects Plico member systems to act as one giant battery to either increase or reduce energy supply to the electrical grid. Plico members earn revenue by being part of the VPP, by joining together with other Plico members and helping stabilise (and revolutionise!) the grid. The VPP introduces flexibility, efficiency, and resilience into the energy ecosystem. It transforms the traditional model of centralised energy generation and distribution, paving the way for a more sustainable and adaptive power grid.  

In the wake of increasing solar uptake and a need to stabilise the electricity grid, the VPP can be managed to bring the grid back into balance under both minimum demand and peak demand scenarios. When the VPP is activated, members earn profit for the energy they contribute.
